The 2008 Taste of Downtown will run from noon to midnight along Fifth Street between Jefferson and Adams Streets.  Food tickets are $1 each, with menu items priced from $1 to $5. Menus offered by downtown restaurants have ranged from hot dogs, horseshoes and burgers to salmon, fried oysters and shrimp gazpacho. Event-goers delight in sampling puff pastries, strawberry-rhubarb crisp, ice cream and brownies for dessert.  To quench the thirst, Taste will have a variety of beverages, including beer, soft drinks and specialty cocktails.
